Piazza Italia Cafe, Burlingame, CA: Turkey pesto panini with roasted tomatoes. Mmmmmmm.
CJ’s Gourmet Deli, Burlingame, CA: Love of Greece on a wheat roll. Olive, feta, chicken, sun dried tomatoes. Awesome.
Russian River, Santa Rosa, CA: Sanctification (blonde ale). A really smooth, good Belgium-style blonde. A little sweet. 6%.
Spaten Optimator, Germany: German Dark Ale. Bavarians don’t really drink Spaten. They drink Augustiner. It’s always confused me why Spaten is so popular in the US. That said, this is a delicious 7% dark beer. Full bodied, tasty, and flavorful.
La Chouffe, Belgium: Golden Strong Ale. A pretty traditional golden strong. I like Piraat better, but this was good. Smooth, yet strong and flavorful. 8%.
CJ’s Gourmet Deli, Burlingame, CA: Turkey in the Middle on a wheat roll. Turkey, marinara sauce, American cheese, and cheddar, everything else. One of my favorites at CJ’s. Lots of taste, fairly original, not as unhealthy as others, but still unhealthy. Great sandwich.
Redondo Beach Brewing Co., Redondo Beach, CA: Blueberry Wheat. Really interesting. Was skeptical, but I enjoy the blueberry twist to the wheat.
